The abundant culture of Taiwan---About Festivals (5)
Finally, I talk about the "Mid-autumn Festival".
The Mid-autumn Festival, on the fifth day of the eighth lunar month. It’s a day for the family get together.
But different to the Chinese New Year, people in this day will eat pomeloes and mooncakes ( a Chinese cake shapes like the full moon, in it have egg yolk, jujube paste…etc.) Also families will go out to enjoy the glorious full moon.
In Chinese, there is a proverb , "When the moon is full, mankind is one", it’s means”the full moon has always represented the gatherings of friends and family. Thus, Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for family reunions.”
